Miraculous Catch Of Fish

When is a band not a band? When it’s something less…and something more - when it’s the Miraculous Catch Of Fish.

Brainchild of frontman Damon Covert, the M.C.O.F. is a fluid group of gifted musicians who bring decades of diverse experience to a musical melting pot. Fans of Matt Maher, Crowder, Sting, Lyle Lovett, Pink Floyd, John Mellencamp et al will find something fresh, yet familiar.

The name comes from Luke 5:4-11, which describes the calling of Jesus’ first disciples and how they came to be ‘fishers of men.’ “God provides what we truly need when we trust Him for it. That’s why the band is the way it is…” says Damon, “…but in another way, we’re all part of the ‘miraculous catch’ - and we can all reach others too - if we drop our nets where God tells us to. The band is an outreach. I want people to know that no matter how lost or ashamed they feel, God loves them and wants fellowship with them. I’m living proof that God can heal lives and relationships”

Damon and/or ‘The Fish’ have performed at Rock The Grove with I Am They, The Ignite Festival with Hawk Nelson and Citizen Way, as well as headlining at the Rusnock Amphitheater, Downtown Summer Sounds Series, and Wednesday Night Live. In 2019, Damon took the show on the road as part of the East cost leg of The Extreme Tour.

The current catch consists of bassist Tony Bellesai, who bridges the rock solid rhythms of drummer Kurt McNaught’s beats to the colorful keyboard stylings of Jeff Snyder and Kraig Keller’s reverberating guitar riffs. Damon’s acoustic guitar rounds out the backdrop for delivery of his honest and thought-provoking lyrics.

Solid Ground Reviews had this to say about Damon’s debut EP:

”…Damon Covert is an honest singer, his songs are warm, honest and truth runs through all of them, both scripturally and in experience. Have You Met My Friend, Jesus is a solid album for both the artist and those who desire something that sounds different from everything else out there…”

Damon and ‘The Fish’ are currently at work recording follow-up releases to “Have You Met My Friend, Jesus?” and the singles “It Is Written” and “God’s Gift To The World.” You can follow The Fish’s migrations on Facebook & ReverbNation and stream or download their music online on outlets like Spotify, CD Baby, Amazon and more.

Remember: God thinks you’re a ‘catch!’
